The Parish Council has 11 members working as a team to represent both wards. They are working in a voluntary role to do their best for you and you are encouraged & welcome to contact them or meet them at any the regular meetings held during the year.

The role of a Councillor is a voluntary role with the option to claim an allowance, applicable only to elected members, as set by the parish council on an annual basis.

Travel allowances for parish purposes are recommended as a maximum of 45p per mile for the first 10,000 miles (25p per mile thereafter) regardless of vehicle engine size, 24p per mile for motor cycles and 20p per mile for travel by cycle.
Maximum rates of subsistence: maximum rates for breakfast is £6.00, lunch allowance £7.50 and evening meal £12.00.

Bill Davidson – Parish Council Chairman Parkeston Ward (District Councillor – Dovercourt Vines & Parkeston)
Bill continues to hold the position as Chair after being elected to the role on 13 May 2021 and again in May 2023. Bill is also Tree and Footpath Warden for Parkeston Ward, and leads on the refurbishment and upkeep of the Parish Chapel and the Parkeston Cemetery. He also oversees the running & maintenance of the Welfare Park in a voluntary role.

Tanya Ferguson – Parish Councillor Parkeston ward and District Councillor – Stour Valley Ward (Ramsey Ward, Wrabness and Bradfield villages).
A former Vice Chair, Tanya was elected to both the Parish and District councils in May 2023 and has a long association with the parish and extensive experience as a Parish and previous District councillor.

Rob Passmore – Parish Councillor Ramsey ward
Rob has served the council for 18 years, Vice-Chairman for the municipal year 2021/22 following 3 years leading the council as Chairman.

David was co-opted to the council in 2017, elected in 2019 and again in 2023 and is working hard to improve his neighbourhood in Clayton Road, Ramsey and the surrounding area.

Maureen was co-opted onto the Parish Council on 23rd June 2021 and elected May 2023. Maureen is a retired ambulance driver with a passion for wildlife for all to enjoy.

Sean Fay – Parish Councillor Ramsey Ward
Co-opted to the council in September 2019, I moved from Ramsey to Little Oakley as a child, but spent most of my childhood in Ramsey and still have fond affection for the village and surrounding area.
I currently work full time within the freight transport industry and have 30 years experience within a customer focused environment, listening to customers issues and finding solutions to problems.
I am also a Harwich Town Councillor for which I am the HTC representative on Parish Transport and TDC Transport Liaison Committees.

Marion was co-opted to the Parish Council on 18th October 2018 and elected in May 2019. Marion has lived in the village of Parkeston for many years and volunteers within the village in litter picking and delivering the regular newsletters published by the Parkeston Residents Association.

David returns to the Parish Council, having served in the role during 2008 – 2019 and is also a Councillor on the Harwich Town Council. David is now retired and has lived in Dovercourt for many years; his interests are the environment, planning, finance and health.

Joining the Council on 19th September 2022 in the role of Clerk and Responsible Finance Officer, Teresa is a local resident of Parkeston with a good understanding of the community in both Ramsey & Parkeston. She is keen to start working towards gaining the CilCa qualification, with training already planned.
